The Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity on the campus of Union Station, in conjunction with our Resident Company status at the world-class Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, has truly positioned Kansas City as a Destination for Dance.

Thanks to supporters like you, the Kansas City community can experience a balanced repertoire, presenting authentic interpretations of the great classics of the dance world, as well as time-honored 20th-century creations and brand new world premieres from today’s leading choreographers.

Excellence in Dance Training

From the Academy and Professional Division to Dance and Fitness Classes for adults of every experience level, your support enriches the lives of people of all ages with programs revolving around dance. With locations in downtown Kansas City and Johnson County, Kansas City Ballet School attracts students from across the country to learn from acclaimed faculty in state-of-the-art studios.

You are helping students prepare for the widest spectrum of opportunities within the artistic community and professional dance world. Students develop skills associated with academic success including self-discipline, self-confidence and the ability to concentrate and collaborate. Their success would not be possible without your support!

Community Engagement for All

Dedicated supporters like you are committed to making dance accessible to everyone, from very young children to senior citizens, through fun workshops, interactive dance demonstrations, discounted theatre performances, and adult education programs.

Your support is reaching students and teachers of all backgrounds and experience levels through in-school programming, tours of Kansas City Ballet’s studios and specially-priced matinees at the theater. You are also providing for unique audience education opportunities for adults wishing to expand their experiences around the ballet’s current repertory.

Moving into the Future

Over the last 40 years in order to keep pace with rising costs, ballet companies across the nation have increased ticket prices. These increases, however necessary, outpaced the earning power of the audiences. And now, Kansas City Ballet, just like other national companies, must limit ticket price increases to keep attendance affordable and accessible.

With current financial projections, expenses will begin to surpass income in 2025. The easy answer is “cut expenses”. Cuts would begin the decline of the Ballet, taking us backward and losing what you and so many others have built.

A strong financial future is the best solution to ensuring Kansas City Ballet’s continued momentum. The arts in our community are a “need to be” not a “nice to be”. We owe future generations the best Ballet Company the region can offer. Our city is a gift, and we strive to give back to the city. You have helped us build this treasure, and you also help us preserve it.
